The PhD section of the Student Union (TLTH) is an organization that is run by PhD students at LTH for PhD students at LTH. The main task is to represent the PhD students in questions regarding the PhD programmes and the education of PhD students. In addition, the PhD student section also organizes seminars and social get-togethers.

But please remember that you have to join the PhD student section your self, all you need to do is to stop by Kårhuset and tell the people at the union,TLTH, that you want to be a member. If you are a new student to LTH it is a one time fee of 300 kr, otherwise it’s free. you get a lot of stuff. Or sign up here: http://www.tlth.se/157-Become+a+member

Does sitting in the board of LTH sound interesting? In that case you have the chance to do so right now!

The election committee are now looking for PhD student representatives who want to sit in the board of LTH 2012/2013.

If you want to present your candidature or nominate someone else please send an e-mail to dokt-val@tlth.se

Answer the following questions:
1. Who do you want to nominate? (Give name, department and contact details)
2. Why should this person be elected?

We need you e-mail before the 8th of April, but the sooner the better!!

Registration, PhD-studies, spring semester 2012

If you intend to actively pursue your PhD-studies at Lund University during the present semester/six months, you are now able to register in the Student Portal.
This registration is, among other things, a prerequisite for PhD-students to receive various discounts at travel companies.

  1. To access the service, go to http://www.student.lu.se
  2. To enter, either use your LUCAT-ID and password for employees, or use your student account (StiL-account).
  3. Choose “Study Administration” in the bar at the top, followed by “Postgraduate Students” in the left-hand column, followed by ”Registration, PhD-studies” in the second column. Follow the instructions on the page.

In the Student Portal, you are also able to print a transcript of records for your PhD-studies, and there is also a service called “My results and activities, PhD-studies”, which shows information relating to your PhD-studies at Lund University.
If you do not have a LUCAT-ID, please contact your department to receive such an ID.
If you for some reason are not entitled to such an ID, please contact the StiL-support at support@student.lu.se
If you for some other reason still are not able to register, please contact your department.
The last date for the registration to be entered is on Thursday, February 9th, 2012.

The PhD Movie

Some of you might have seen one of the the PhD comic strips ”Piled Higher and Deeper” and some of you might have followed every one since before they started their PhD work. Some things regarding a PhD thesis are universal, and can be explained hilariously. So why not collect them all in a movie? To see a glimpse of the movie press here.

The PhD section of the Student Union (TLTH) and Lund doctorial students’ union (LDK) proudly present the PhD movie in Lund.

There are two shows and they are free!! 200 seats per PhD show!

For who?          Members of The PhD section of the Student Union (TLTH) or Lund doctorial students’ union (LDK). Don’t forget your membership card! (If you are not a member become one: TLTH and LDK)

Only TLTH People:    On the 16th of November will we have our section meeting. It will be held in Kårhuset, Hörsalen. It starts at 16:59. Several things will happen; A new sektion board will be elected and the budget for 2012 will be set. After the meeting we will walk down to the movie. There will be free food during the meeting. Sign up at this page for free food. So if you not only want a free movie but also free food, you are most welcome to the section meeting.
